Conversations with the enlightened.

This is a collection of transcripts of unsolicited online conversations with theists.

“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the kingdom of heaven in men’s faces.” – Matt. 23:13

What website are these taking place on, or application? They’re rather amusing to read. Not on your end, of course – your arguments are backed by logic – but the stupidity of those you conversed with..

    • Most of the conversations that I’m having right now are coming off Yahoo! Chat.

Wow, really? A specific chat room or such that connects you with these theists, or what..?

    • Yahoo! has twenty or so religion-centric rooms. As you’ve probably gathered, the Christian rooms are the richest source of aggressive fundies.

Have you ever conversed with a theist who expressed, you know, any logic or reason at all? As amusing as these discourses are, surely there was somebody who wasn’t so.. irrational.

    • This entry, I think, provides a good example of a fundie who is intelligent and intellectually honest, despite having been indoctrinated. However, most of my conversations with reasonable theists go something like this:

      “Jesus is risen!”

      -“Not in my opinion.”

“Oh, okay. Sorry to have bothered you.”

      -“No problem.”

And then that’s it. They don’t generally make for entertaining transcripts.

Ah yes, I’m right in the middle of that one.

Shame, it would’ve been interesting to hear from a theist with as tangible evidence supporting their beliefs as yours- no, nope. Nevermind.

DWT, after reading almost all your conversations with followers of God and their horrid grammar, I must say you could do a hell of a lot better backing yourself up when it comes to evolution and the beginning of the universe questionnaires. I am spiritual in a way that there are so many universes and bigger things up there and my profound interest is the force keeping and expanding these universes together (something in space…) Yes, I am Atheist, but I don’t hate God. Every once in a while, just to please the Christian population, I will pay my regards to God when I am amazed (meaning, I say words such as, “Oh my Lord, what a beautiful rainbow, and how nature blooms so fast!”).

I used to be a devout Roman Catholic and followed the word of the Lord; that is, until I realized that a lot of every-day things we do are banned in the Bible. Also, treating women like servants is apparently a good thing, too. To me, the Bible is a book of fables, just like, for example, the Bhagavat-Gita.

    I think he’s doing a swell job.

Yeah, overall, he is. I don’t blame him, however, that he is kinda backed down. The people talking to him are so idiotic that it just isn’t worth going too deep into explaining.

He doesn’t go that deep. To be honest, even if I’m not as informed as he is on scientific theories and the like, I’m sure that they’re all pretty basic facts. Anyway, if he didn’t provide the reason that he does, I don’t think it’d be enough (actually it may well be, given the responses and arguments I’ve seen from them so far) to prove his point solidly, and if he doesn’t provide reason, that’d just be hypocritical.

This site is full of horrors. It’s like you’re talking to neanderthals. Theists give me the willies, they’re such a bunch of brainwashed loons.
